Why I'm publishing scares me

After reading about the problems that Punk Planet and Venus have faced, that's my real fear of even trying to start a publication. The constant about the "money factor". I admire those people for pressing on, because I would definitely consider abandoning ship. Starting your own business in today's world is a difficult task anyways. Let alone in a dying market. It's like trying to sell Beanie Babies. I'm also not one who likes to sit back while my money changes as many hands as it has to in the publishing industry.
